Retention
After your braces are removed, you will begin the retention stage to keep your teeth in their new positions. Wearing your retainers as instructed is the only way to protect the results you worked hard to achieve.
Types of Retainers
Hawley Retainer
A removable retainer made of metal wires and durable acrylic. It’s custom-fit to your mouth and helps maintain proper tooth alignment. The acrylic can be personalized with different colors or patterns.
Fixed Retainer
A thin wire bonded to the inside of the lower front teeth. Because it stays in place permanently, it’s one of the best ways to prevent shifting. Be sure to brush carefully around it and contact us if it loosens or breaks.
Essix Retainer
A removable, clear retainer that fits over your entire arch of teeth. It has no metal parts, is nearly invisible, and is comfortable and easy to wear.
